FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
Don’t know how to get to the meeting point?
We choose meeting points that are accessible by public transport whenever possible. Depending on the location, if the meeting point is far from the public transport location, or if you are going by private car and would like to meet at a different location, we can accommodate that. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will discuss the details.
What happens if you don’t make it to the summit as planned?
The guide will make every effort to walk the planned route as much as possible. However, there are cases where the planned route cannot be walked due to weather, the physical condition of the customer, the condition of the mountain trail, the appearance of dangerous animals, or other reasons. Since the climb has already started, there will be no refunds based on the cancellation policy . This is an obligation imposed on the mountain guide to ensure the safety of all participating customers, and you must agree to this.
I applied but want to cancel.
If you need to cancel after registering, please read the cancellation policy on the Important Information page. Since this is a private guided tour, the cancellation policy is quite generous.
Can I wear sneakers?
If you are participating in the Edge2 Summit tour, we ask that you wear hiking boots. Even on gentle slopes, there are many places where the slope is slippery due to mud and pebbles. Hiking boots, a backpack, and rain gear are the three essential items for hiking.
What if I forget to bring my gear?
It depends on what you forgot, but the guide will substitute something or lend you a spare if they have one, but if they don’t, they may refuse to let you participate at the meeting point. This is for your safety. In this case, we will handle it according to the cancellation policy . Forgetting rain gear in particular is a fatal risk that can directly lead to hypothermia during the climb.
I’m going to be late for the meeting, what should I do?
Please contact the guide by phone. Depending on the delay situation, especially if there are other customers, the delayed customer may be treated as a cancellation. In this case, we will handle it according to
the cancellation policy .
If you continue climbing with the intention of catching up with the guide, the guide cannot take responsibility for your safety until you catch up, or if you are unable to meet up. For this reason, unfortunately, we will have to cancel your reservation.
Do I have to take out outdoor activity insurance?
We strongly recommend that you take out mountaineering insurance. The decision to take out mountaineering insurance or not is ultimately your own responsibility. Recommended mountaineering insurance
is explained on the Important Information page.
What should I do about the mountaineering registration?
Based on the information you provide in advance, the mountain guide will create a mountaineering registration notification and submit it to the relevant government agency.
Can I drink alcohol at the summit?
Alcohol dulls your sense of balance and slows your reflexes. For this reason, we do not allow drinking during guided mountain hikes. This is for everyone’s safety. If you are staying in a mountain hut or tent, drinking alcohol is fine once you arrive at your destination, but please be careful not to drink too much at high altitudes, as the air pressure is low and it is easy to get drunk.
